Education & Experience
J.J. Stakem is CEO and President of Objective Area Solutions with accountability for all aspects of the company’s activities and strategy. J.J. leverages a diverse background in government and private sector positions in aviation, banking, and consulting to drive company activities and engagement. He is a strategic planner with a focus on human-centered approaches to drive performance in highly technical fields in the aviation, defense, and international development fields. J.J. has worked across a wide variety of domestic and international teams. His work abroad has focused on the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia.
J.J. Stakem has nearly 20 years of technical and consulting experience in aviation, defense, international development, and finance fields. He serves as the President of George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government Alumni Board holds a Master of Science in Organization Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia. He is a licensed commercial pilot and flight instructor in fixed-wing and helicopter aircraft. In his spare time, he enjoys recreational flying at the Leesburg Airport and spending time with his wife and two children.
My professional career has not followed a direct path. While I have explored numerous industries, I have always focused on following ideas and issues that have interested me. I have worked in banking, military and commercial aviation, real estate, and management consulting fields — all of which has informed my current approach to work.
