Education & Experience
Leon began a career at Boeing, supporting both defense and space exploration programs. As an electrical systems design engineer, he contributed to NASA’s next human-rated moon rocket before transitioning into cybersecurity. In that role, Leon served as an Information System Security Officer, leading initiatives in compliance, incident response, and security posture. More recently, he has focused on safeguarding critical infrastructure and public sector environments, including transportation systems and municipal information networks.
Leon holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University and a Master of Engineering Management from Washington University in St. Louis.
Passionate about the commercial space industry, Leon closely follows developments in launch vehicles, satellite constellations, and emerging technologies—drawing inspiration from innovation in space exploration to solve complex challenges on Earth. Outside of work, Leon enjoys fly fishing in Alaska, exploring off-road trails, wildlife photography, and the occasional gold panning adventure. Known for noticing subtle details and connecting them into a bigger picture, Leon brings both technical expertise and strategic insight to every endeavor.
I began my career at Boeing, where I supported both defense and space exploration engineering programs—most notably as an electrical system design engineer contributing to NASA’s next human rated moon rocket. Over time, I transitioned into cybersecurity, serving as an Information System Security Officer and leading efforts to strengthen compliance, incident response, and overall security posture. More recently, I have focused on protecting critical infrastructure and public sector environments, including transportation systems and municipal information networks.
I’m passionate about keeping up with the commercial space industry. I enjoy following the rapid developments in launch vehicles, satellite constellations, and emerging space technologies. It’s a field that combines my engineering background with my interest in innovation and exploration, and it continues to inspire how I think about solving complex challenges here on Earth.
Outside of work, I enjoy fly fishing in Alaska’s great outdoors. I also like exploring off-road trails, bringing my camera for wildlife photography, and occasionally trying my luck with a gold pan.
I excel at noticing subtle details and connecting them to reveal the bigger picture.
