What did you do prior to joining OAS?

Before joining OAS, I proudly served 25 years on active duty in the United States Coast Guard, where I held leadership roles across Human Resources, Policy Development, Finance, and Logistics. I retired as a Chief Warrant Officer, having built a career focused on mission readiness, strategic planning, and supporting service members and their families. Originally from Tampa, Florida, I now call Northern Virginia home, where I continue to serve in a different capacity—driven by the same commitment to excellence, service, and impact.

What is something you are passionate about most people wouldn't know?

What is your favorite book?

My favorite book is “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl. It reminded me that even in the darkest times, meaning is something we choose to create. I also enjoyed "Leadership in Turbulent Times" by Doris Kearns Goodwin, as a powerful reminder that great leadership is often shaped by adversity. It’s not about having all the answers, but about growing through challenges with humility, resilience, and purpose.

What sport, hobby, or passion do you have outside of work?

Outside of work and pursuing my master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, much of my free time is spent around the lacrosse field. I’m a proud supporter of my daughter, who plays for the U.S. Naval Academy, and I volunteer with youth lacrosse programs throughout the DMV. Giving back to the veteran community is also a deep personal priority—I stay actively involved with the Travis Manion Foundation and the USO National Capital Region. Additionally, I support animal welfare through my work with the local ASPCA, fostering kittens too young for adoption as they await loving homes.

What is a hidden talent of yours?

What is a super strength of yours?

My super strength is courage—the ability to rise to challenges and face adversity head-on, even in the face of uncertainty. Whether navigating high-stakes decisions, unfamiliar territory, or personal setbacks, I rely on my inner resolve to move forward with integrity and determination. Courage, to me, isn't about fearlessness—it's about acting with purpose even when the path is unclear. It’s what allows me to lead through change, take initiative when others hesitate, and remain grounded when the stakes are high.
